Our committee met for our meeting on May 27th with all members in attendance. We wanted to make sure all our plans for out next Seniors’ Day were in order and advertisement was ready to go out.
Our Seniors’ Group, Summertime Fun, on June 13th, went very well. Fun was had by all. Our next Seniors’ Group will be on Sept. 12th. We are taking a break for the summer.
We planned all the activities and Wendy bought all the food needed for the Congregational Picnic on June 9th and put a sign up sheet in the Narthex for the Potluck. The Men’s group cooked the hotdogs and paid for the supplies and our committee looked after the potluck dishes and we brought the outdoor games. However, the weather did not co-operate and the Picnic was inside. All went very well and we thank everyone for their help.
We are hoping to have a Food Pantry built by the end of August … if all goes well. Glen Moore has offered to build it for us … much thanks!!! This is exciting for our community and Wesley.
Birthday cards for those 80 and over, Sympathy, Get Well and Congratulate cards are continually being sent out to our Wesley Family. We are also working hard to welcome all newcomers, learn their names and encouraging them to join us for Coffee Hour and other events in our church.
Our next meeting will be late August.
