Weddings
Weddings…a wonderful and special time here at Wesley United. We see relationships as things to nourish. We see people as unique and loved creations of God. Consequently, we believe our community to be a broad and accepting one. We offer the service of marriage to those people who may be divorced and those of different religions. Do you need to be a member here? No. But we are hoping that through our time together and in making this time special for you that we will build enough of a bond that when further transitional times appear in your life: i.e. the birth of a child, a death in the family, times of difficulty you may consider the support of this church.
We believe that each wedding service should be special to each couple. Our hope is that we can reduce the stress of this day for you by designing a service that you are comfortable with. Special music, guest soloist, readers, etc, are always welcome.
As of 2007 the cost of getting married at Wesley Church was set at $600.00. This includes the fee for the use the church, the minister, the organist, the custodian and the person who operates our sound room. No surprises!
Do we perform weddings outside of the church? Yes, since we consider the act of marriage a service of worship, we do prefer to do them in the church, however, we always consider each request separately.
We believe that God intends relationships to be faithful, responsible, just, healing and sustaining of the couple and those around them. We hope that we can reach into your lives and support you in this new relationship into which you are about to enter. Please contact our church office to set up a time to sit down with Rev. Kim and discuss what this day means to you.
